Camp FAQs

Where do I drop off and pick up my camper?

We will begin and end each day at the Blue Farmhouse, located at 32470 Harris Road. It is the last driveway on the left before the white gate. Please park in the lot or along Harris Road and walk to the side entrance. There, you will be asked to sign your camper in and out each day. If someone else is picking up your child, they must have prior written approval and present a valid ID at pickup.

What if there's bad weather, e.g., severe weather or heat advisories?

Our camp runs rain or shine; however, if severe weather is predicted, we will adjust accordingly. For example:

  • If severe weather is expected, camp will be held safely indoors until conditions improve.
  • If extreme heat is forecasted, we will spend mornings outdoors during cooler hours and then move indoors to air-conditioned spaces as temperatures rise.

What should my camper wear?

We spend most of the day outdoors, so campers will likely get dirty—that’s part of the fun! Please check the weather daily and dress your child accordingly. Here are some tips:

  • Closed-toed shoes (no sandals)
  • Layers (e.g., T-shirt and sweatshirt) for cool mornings and warm afternoons
  • Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended
  • Bug spray is recommended

Please note: The farm is a buzzing ecosystem! We encourage daily tick checks and following these best practices.

What should I pack for my child to eat?

To maintain a safe and inclusive environment, please send your camper with a nut-free snack and sack lunch daily. Please also send a labeled water bottle each day. Refrigerators and microwaves are not available.

May I stroll the farm while waiting for my child?

For safety reasons, the farm is closed to the public during non-event hours. Except for designated Living Laboratory spaces during Summer Camp, the farm is a working environment with tractors and large vehicles moving regularly. We ask that you remain near your vehicle in the Blue Farmhouse parking lot while waiting for your child.

What’s an example of your daily schedule at Classic Farm Camp?

Campers rotate daily through a variety of farm activities—from feeding and caring for chickens, goats, and sheep to tending communal gardens and watering crops. Daily craft time is also included.

Can my camper apply sunscreen and insect repellent at camp?

We recommend that parents apply sunscreen and insect repellent to their child before arriving at camp each day. Staff will remind and encourage campers to reapply as needed, but will not be responsible for applying these products.

Can my child bring toys, games, or electronics?

To help campers stay engaged with nature and their peers, we ask that children do not bring toys, games, or electronic devices such as iPods, tablets, or gaming consoles. Cell phones may be brought but must remain silenced and stored in backpacks during camp hours. If you need to contact your child, please call one of our staff directly.

Does the themed camp curriculum change each week?

No, each week of themed camps follow the same curriculum.
