Meet your instructor: Mary Wagner-Webb
Mary learned to sew as a child from the women in her family: her grandmother, great-aunts, and mother. Her first job out of college was as a costumer. From there, she developed a line of garments for a Renaissance Faire and freelanced as a designer and costumer.
After spending 12 years in the fabric retail industry, the question she heard most often was, “Where can I learn to sew?” This inspired Mary to begin teaching. For over a decade, she has taught at the College of Lake County, as well as offering private classes and seminars for local libraries and Girl Scout programs.
Mary’s instruction ranges from beginner sewing to pattern drafting, with additional classes in embroidery, basic machine maintenance, and everything in between.
