Visible mending transforms flaws into features, celebrating wear and tear as a story rather than something to hide. Darning—both decorative and functional—restores integrity to worn fabric using time-honored stitching techniques.
Join Molly Reis for this hands-on class introducing participants to the art of visible mending and traditional darning, combining practical repair skills with creative expression. Attendees will learn how to extend the life of their garments while embracing imperfection, individuality, and sustainability.
Participants should bring 1–2 garments in need of mending (e.g., holes, thin spots, or stains). All other supplies and instructions will be included, and no experience necessary. Ages 14+ (sharp needles), though young people aged 10-13 are welcome with an adult participant.
