About Abbe
Abbe grew up in Deerfield, IL and worked in food service for a long time as a young adult. She decided to go back to school at age 30 and pursue a career in sustainability and ecology. She was passionate about local, sustainable food and preserving the environment and wasn’t sure how she wanted to contribute, but knew that college would help her find her path. She is currently enrolled part-time in the horticulture program at College of Lake County and anticipates graduating in the Fall of 2026. She worked for the food pantry farm at the Hope Center in Lake Zurich before becoming the Farm Store Coordinator at the Liberty Prairie Farm Store in June 2026. She is so excited to bring the Farm Store to new heights and welcome more people from the community to this special place.
