From Healthier Soil to Your Plate

May 20, 2025

Thank you to everyone who took a moment to support conservation agriculture through our online auction. We raised over $5,000 towards building a more resilient food system. Here’s how we think about it.

Farming isn’t just about growing food—it’s about stewarding our 95-acre farm as a holistic, connected ecosystem. For instance, when you enjoy your produce, you taste what healthy soil creates. Regenerative and organic farming capture carbon underground while growing more flavorful, nutritious food.

By 2027, we envision 20% of our land (15-20 acres) will be climate-resilient agriculture with perennials, fruiting shrubs, nut trees, and grains, with an expanded conservation grazing herd. These animals manage land and vegetation naturally, enriching soil through their manure using watershed-friendly methods. This more diverse food production system and land stewardship can adapt to our changing climate.

As demonstrated in our food forest, conservation agriculture listens to the land’s needs using regenerative practices and complements our organic annual crops. Students see adaptation in real-time, gaining hands-on experiences with nature and exploring careers from soil science to green entrepreneurship.

Your support and food choices allow us to responsibly steward farmland, create learning opportunities, and build resilience in our local food system. Thank you for supporting our work and the work of local farmers!

Warmly,
Jeff, Jen, and the farming team
